BCN Cleanup 2005
There was a good turn out at this years BCN cleanup on the Walsall Canal. As has been the case in recent years this has been a Waterways Recovery Group organised weekend and their well oiled machinery was in action with the facilities of the former BW office at Ocker Hill being used as a base for WRG and the unloading point for the rubbish boats.
Our own boat 'Phoenix' was in action as well as the Dudley Canal Trust's ex Stewarts and Lloyds tug 'Bittel'. Unloading of the boats and filling of the waste skips was carried out by local BW staff. A good amount of rubbish was removed and hopefully this will make access to Walsall easier for boaters especially on the Campaign Cruise at the end of May. As ever an excellent event, with co-operation from a number of waterway groups.Boundary Post
I am sure that everyone will join me in congratulating Brenda on her first issue of BP which was excellant. I am sure that future issues will continue the standard that she had set herself. Well Done!.
Thank you Martin... no presure then! Ed.
