Notes from the Editor

Phew! What a standard to try & keep up! I'll never last as long as Phil.

Second edtion here we go.........

I must say I have had a good response from a variety of people and if you have sent me something & it's not in don't depair I'll be keeping it for another edition. If you think of anything appropriate no matter how small, whether written or photographed or drawn I'd love to hear from you.

Ray and Phil are my main stalwarts writing such different but equally interesting articles.

This time I've included some people who are looking for family members, past or present. Are you compiling your family tree? Did they have assiciation with the waterways, especially the BCN, and would you like to share some of them with us? Or do you want help finding them?

I was amazed at the article sent in by Peter Best of the Lapel Trust. What a coincidence that Ray's episode covers the area and both featuring the Birmingham Battery and Metal Co. On a different tack, the subject of graffiti seems to be holding interest. I refer to Roger's letter and I must say I had'nt heard of Kenny Burns but I do now.

I will vouich for Monica's account of the Lesser Spotted Narrowboats seen at Anglesey Basin and around Brownhills and Catshill Junction.... in the words of a fellow countryman..." I know 'cause I was there".

Enjoy your Spring cruising I hope to see you somewhere on the BCN.
