Ron Cousens, the B.C.N.S Talks & Presentations officer will be pleased to visit your group or society and give an illustrated presentation about the Birmingham Canal Navigations

Ron has been involved with the B.C.N.S since 1972. He is a past President and Chairman of the Society and is currently a Vice-President.

The standard talk is entitled "Birmingham & Black Country Canals" and is fully illustrated with slides. Previous presentations have been to the Friends of Ironbridge, The Genealogical Society of London, plus various branches of the Inland Waterways Association, National Trust and the Woman's Institute. The talk can be tailored to meet different requirements

All that is requested is Ron's expenses and a donation to the B.C.N.S

BCNS Explorer Cruise: 13th to 20th August 2008
Note from organisors:- Ideal number of boats around 15: Last year had 24 boats which slows up cruise. All will be welcome but if numbers over 15 be prepared for slower event. Volunteers for Tail End Charlie.
Met Tuesday 12th for a gathering. Start Wednesday 13th August Birmingham near to NIA. Planned route around BCN is as following.

Thursday 14th:- Walsall.
Friday 15th:- Cannock Extension.
Saturday 16th:- Longwood Boat Club.

Monday 18th:- BCNS Pumphouse, Titford Canal. No doubt Society will put some event on
Tuesday 19th:- Windmill End:DCI 150 Event.
The Windmill End event is the re-enactment of the opening of the Netherton Tunnel 150 years ago. For those attending, a cruise following to IWA Festival at Autherly Junction.
